Buttons & Blossoms Baby Jacket

Kit cost - $32

This simple to construct, fully lined, swing style baby jacket is made from diamond quilted Dakota Pique. It is embellished in a bright color palette of hot pink, lime green, yellow and black. The design features a border of chain stitch hearts embellished with sprays of bullion roses. Tiny bright colored buttons connected by a running stitch create a border on the collar, sleeve edges, and hemline. The jacket collar, sleeve edges, and hemline are bound in black and white micro check pima cotton. Pattern in sizes 3,6,12, and 18 months is available in class. Your class kit will have materials to make up to the biggest size.

Student Supplies - Sewing machine (in good working order), #70 sewing machine needle, white sewing thread (Mettler 60 or DMC 50), fine point washout marker, paper scissor, clear plastic ruler, basic sewing supplies.

Embroidery Flower Wrap Dress

Kit cost - $60

A simple mock wrap dress is the perfect palette for a full day embroidery lesson. The hand embroidery techniques covered will include bullion stitch, cast-on stitch, double cast-on stitch, buttonhole stitch, and lazy daisy stitch. Hand dyed buttons anchor the center of all the flowers. The white 100% cotton pique dress features Swiss embroidered edging at the neckline and sleeve edges bound with a micro check French bias binding. The last hour of class will include a demonstration of the construction techniques required for the completion of the dress. Basic machine construction skills are a prerequisite. The pattern in sizes 3,4,5, and 6 will be available in class. The kit will make up to the largest size.

Student supplies - 5"-6" embroidery hoop, fine point washout marker, embroidery scissors, #2 pencil, paper scissors, Helix small circle template (available at office supply stores for about $4), June Taylor Quilter's Cut 'n Press 12" x 12" padded board (optional), basic sewing supplies.
